Green Lemonade
A tall glass of lemonade is a refreshing treat on warm days. When you want something a little different or special, it's easy to give it some pizazz. The Green Lemonade fits the bill perfectly and everyone can enjoy this fun and fruity green mocktail recipe. The recipe is quite simple. It combines your favourite lemonade with limeade along with fresh kiwi. It comes together in just a matter of minutes and is an invigorating drink for spring and summer.
4 slices kiwi, peeled
1½ Tbsp. simple syrup
½ cup lemonade
¼ cup limeade or lime cordial
Garnish:
kiwi or lime slice
Muddle the kiwi and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, lemonade, and limeade. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.
Garnish with a kiwi slice or lime wedge. Serve and enjoy.
Makes 1 drink.
Variation:
- Optionally, rim the glass with green sugar or salt prior to adding the ice and pouring the drink.
- The base recipe is open for countless additions as well. If you want to turn it into a boozy lemonade, feel free.
- You can also add a layer of subtle flavour by using an herb-infused simple syrup (lavender is a favourite).
- If you like, top it off with sparkling water or your favourite clear soda.
