Dumplings

dumplingsThese basic dumplings are wonderful in a chicken or beef stew or casserole. Add parsley or chives to the mixture if you like.

2 cups all-purpose flour, unbleached
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. sea salt
1 cup milk or water

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together; add liquid and mix to make a batter that can be dropped from a spoon. Drop onto boiling stew, being careful there is plenty of liquid.

Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, depending on size of dumplings.
