Barbeque Sauce (Chipotle Chiles, Maple)
Chipotles in adobo are a great way to add intense heat and a rich, sweet, smoky flavour to sauces and other dishes.
1 cup ketchup
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup dark-brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
2-3 tsp. adobo sauce
In a small saucepan, whisk together ketchup, maple syrup and dark-brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and adobo sauce.
Simmer, whisking occasionally, until sauce is reduced to 1¼ cups, 10-15 minutes.
Makes 1¼ cups.
