Poultry Seasoning
Just six pantry spices – ground sage, thyme, marjoram, rosemary, nutmeg, and black pepper – are needed to make this blend. Of course, poultry seasoning is a staple in holiday cooking. The most common use for poultry seasoning is for seasoning a turkey before roasting. It is also great on other poultry like chicken, duck, and other game birds. You can use it to season stuffing, and for adding to sauces and meatloaf. Add it to your homemade gravy using pan drippings. Use it as a dry rub on turkey cutlets or tenderloin. Poultry seasoning can also be used to season other types of meat. It is excellent on venison, pork chops and pork tenderloin!
2 Tbsp. ground sage
1½ Tbsp. dried thyme
1 Tbsp. dried marjoram
1 Tbsp. dried rosemary
½ Tbsp. ground nutmeg
½ Tbsp. black pepper, freshly cracked
Combine all the spices together and mix well.
Store in a mason jar or air tight container.
Before using, always give the mix a stir as spices will settle.
