smashburgercondimentsA homemade Smash Burger is quick and easy to make. These fly off the grill in minutes so it's a great way to feed a crowd. Smash burgers have the iconic flavour profile of classic Burgers, but that double burger patty with cheese melted in between is irresistible. This version has a combination of condiments that form a delicious sauce.

1½ lb Certified Angus Beef® ground beef, 80/20 lean

Condiment Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
1 Tbsp. yellow onion, grated
2 tsp. hot sauce
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Filling and Assembly:
4 white hamburger buns
2 Tbsp. butter, room temperature
1½ tsp. sea salt
½ tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
4 slices American cheese
pickles
2 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
8 slices vine ripened tomatoes
½ red onion, sliced into rings

Create 8 equal sized balls out of the ground beef.

To Make the Sauce:
Add mayonnaise, mustard, hot sauce, grated onion, and Worcestershire sauce into a mixing bowl. Stir until well combined, then place it inside the fridge to chill.

Put a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high. Add butter and allow it to melt.

Add the buns and toast, then transfer onto clean individual plates.

Add the beef balls into the hot skillet and press each to flatten. Season with your sauce, salt, and pepper. Sear each side for about 3 minutes or until brown.

Put cheese over each patty and cook for few more minutes until melted completely. Remove from the heat.

Spread the delicious sauce over each bun, then top each with pickles, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion slices, two patties, and the other half of the bun.

Serve hot and enjoy.
