Mashed Potatoes with Garlic (Protein)
As delicious as they are, mashed potatoes can be a little tricky - from a dietary perspective. A starchy root vegetable, mixed up with various fats really doesn't always work well from the health conscious out there. But that problem is easily solved. Here's a simple recipe for delicious, protein powder mashed potatoes that can let you enjoy those mashed potatoes without a lot of nutritional concerns.
1 lb red potatoes, unpeeled, cubed
½ head garlic
¾ tsp. extra-virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp. sour cream
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
2 Tbsp. milk
2 scoops unflavoured whey protein powder (39 g)
½ tsp. sea salt
black pepper, freshly ground
Separate, peel and mash the garlic cloves.
Bring a pot of water to boil and add the potatoes. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender. Drain and mash the potatoes. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until thoroughly combined.
