Quiche (Protein)

quicheproteinThis protein-enriched quiche is combined with a healthy balance of vegetables, cheese and protein for a very satisfying dinner.

½ recipe Double-Crust Pastry
1 cup protein, cooked and chopped, such as chicken, ham, turkey or salmon
½ cup vegetables, chopped, such as spinach, bell peppers, onions or tomatoes
½ cup cheese, freshly grated, such as cheddar, Swiss or Provolone
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
¼ cup (1 scoop) vanilla whey protein powder (19.5 g)
½ tsp. dried herbs, such as thyme, rosemary or parsley
sea salt
black pepper, freshly ground

Preheat an oven to 350°F (180°C/160°C fan, Gas Mark 4).

Make half of the pastry recipe.

In a mixing bowl, add the cooked protein, vegetables, eggs, milk, protein powder, dried herbs, salt and pepper.

Place the pie in the oven and bake for 10-20 minutes. To check for doneness, gently jiggle the pie dish - the quiche should be firm and not wobble in the center.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
