Candied Walnuts (Keto)
These Keto Candied Walnuts make a sweet low carb snack, Festive treat or tasty topping for a salad. Walnuts are one of the best keto nuts to include in your diet.
1 egg, white only
1-2 Tbsp. Stevia
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
sea salt
½-1 tsp. ground cinnamon
7 oz walnuts (200 g)
Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C/100°C fan, Gas Mark 0.5), line a baking tray with baking paper and grease it well.
Separate the egg, moving the white to a mixing bowl and saving the yolk to use in scrambled eggs, an omelette or another keto friendly recipe.
Use a wire whisk to briefly whisk the egg white until frothy.
Add the stevia and whisk in to incorporate.
Add the vanilla, a pinch of salt and the cinnamon and whisk until fully combined.
Add the walnuts and stir through to fully coat the nuts in the sweet batter.
Move the nuts to the prepared baking tray, flattening them down so they are spaced out in a single layer.
Place into the preheated oven and roast for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven, flip the nuts over and return to the oven for a further 15 minutes.
Remove the nuts from the oven, flip them and return to the oven for a final 15 minutes or until golden and cooked to your liking.
Once perfectly roasted, remove from the oven, allow to cool completely to further crisp up and then enjoy.
