Cheeseburger Salad
This Cheeseburger Salad is anything from boring since it tastes like your favorite burger. Loaded with romaine lettuce, seasoned ground beef, pickles, avocado, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, red onions and dressed with a special burger sauce.
Beef:
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce look for gluten-free if needed
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
½ tsp. garlic powder
sea salt
black pepper, freshly ground
Salad:
1 large head romaine lettuce, washed and chopped
1 pt cherry tomatoes, halved
1 small red onion, diced
1¼ cup cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
½ cup cucumber, finely chopped
sesame seeds (optional)
Special Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
½ tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. garlic powder
2 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. Dijon or yellow mustard
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. pickle relish
1 Tbsp. pure honey or sugar
sea salt
black pepper, freshly ground
Cook the Beef:
Heat a medium skillet over medium high heat and cook the ground beef until no longer pink, ~6-8 minutes. Add the Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir to combine and then remove from heat.
Make the Special Sauce:
Whisk together all ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
Assemble:
In a large salad bowl add the romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese and cucumber. Top with the seasoned ground beef and garnish with sesame seeds, if desired. Serve with the dressing on the side or feel free to toss the salad with the desired amount of dressing.
