Coleslaw (Buttermilk)
This classic Southern slaw recipe will be delicious with brisket and a side of baked beans.
¾ cup whole buttermilk
¾ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup + 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
3 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
¼ tsp. black pepper, freshly ground
2 (16 oz.) pkg shredded coleslaw mix
Whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well combined and sugar is dissolved.
Fold coleslaw mix into buttermilk mixture until evenly coated.
Cover and chill until cabbage is slightly wilted and flavours meld, about 2 hours.
Makes 8 servings.
