Beef Stew (Slow-Cooker)

slowcookerbeefstewFifteen minutes of prep in the morning gets you a hearty beef stew in the evening. Its savoury vegetables are perfect on a chilly night.

2 lbs beef stew meat, cut in 1” cubes
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. pepper, freshly cracked
¼ cup flour, unbleached
1 tsp. paprika

3 potatoes, cut in 1” pieces
4 carrots, cut in 1” pieces
1 cup turnip, diced
2 onions, diced
3 ribs celery, chopped
1-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 bay leaves
1½ cups beef broth

Place stewing meat at the bottom of your slow-cooker. In a small bowl, combine flour, paprika, salt and pepper. Sprinkle over meat and mix until well blended.

Add remaining ingredients in the order listed and stir together.

Cook on LOW for 10-12 hours or on HIGH for 5-6 hours.
