Hot Cognac Punch

Swap the mulled wine and warm up this winter with this hot cognac recipe. Infuse cognac with plenty of festive spices. Serve warm for a cosy Christmas drink idea.
1 cup sugar
4 cups tea, freshly brewed, hot
8 large oranges, strained juice
3 large lemons, strained juice
1½ cups Cognac
Dissolve the sugar in the hot tea. Stir in the strained orange and lemon juice, freshly squeezed and add the Cognac. Heat the punch but do not let it boil. Serve in punch glasses.
Makes 16 (4 oz) servings.
