Brown Sugar Butter with Cinnamon

brownsugarbutterJust 3 ingredients for a perfectly sweet brown sugar butter that makes eating bread that much more delicious. Brown sugar butter, with soft butter and sweetened brown sugar, is such a delight on toasted bread and soft yeast rolls alike.

1 stick butter, softened
¼ cup light brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Let your butter stick sit on the counter to get soft, about 15 minutes. Allowing time for your butter to soften will make mixing a breeze.

Combine softened butter, dark brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a bowl.

Beat sugar butter with a hand held mixer until sugar is combined and fluffy, about 3 minutes, using a spatula to remove any stuck butter in between the mixer.

Serve brown sugar butter with rolls, spread on toast or just simply enjoy with all your foods that need to be buttered up.

Butter Log:
Many professional chefs will roll a compound butter into cylinders and chill or freeze them until it's time to serve a dish. It's an easy way to store the butter as well as cut off a small slice at a time.

Spread a piece of plastic wrap on the counter (about 12" long). Spoon the butter in the middle of the plastic wrap so that it is approximately the same length as a stick of butter.

Fold the plastic wrap around the butter, carefully rolling into a log, and then tuck the ends underneath the butter.

Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before using so that the butter is completely chilled and the flavours can meld. Slice into ¼" thick rounds for serving.

Chill for up to 1 week or freeze until needed.
