Broiled T-Bone Steaks with Maple and Chili Rub

broiledtbonesteaksmaplechiliYou can serve the steaks with a side dish of grilled red and yellow bell peppers and spring onions. Use your stovetop grill and grill the vegetables while the steak broils.

1 can chipotle en adobo, minced
2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ orange, freshly zested
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. onion powder
2 (1½-1¾ lb) T-bone steaks, ½" thick, trimmed
red and yellow bell peppers (optional)
spring onions (optional)

Spray broiler rack with nonstick spray and preheat broiler.

Stir together chipotle, maple syrup, garlic, orange zest, salt, chili powder, cumin and onion powder in small bowl. Rub chipotle mixture on both sides of steaks.

Place steaks on broiler rack and broil 4" from heat until an instant-read thermometer inserted into side of steak registers 145° F for medium, about 5 minutes on each side.

Transfer steaks to cutting board and let stand 5 minutes. Cut each steak into 3 portions.

Makes 6-8 servings.
